WebbIn the case of HSRs, that communication will be between workers and the person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) on issues of workplace health and safety. Just to be clear: it is not the role of the HSR to fix health and safety issues in the workplace. Rather it is their role to represent the interests of the workers in such matters. WebbHSRs should not be disadvantaged for taking on the role of HSR. When a HSR is exercising their powers as a HSR or performing any of the functions the WHS Act gives them, they must be paid the same amount that they would be entitled to receive for performing their normal duties. Payment must include any allowances to which the worker is entitled.
