WebPublic Safety Employees' Death Benefits Act. § 143-166.1. Purpose. In consideration of hazardous public service rendered to the people of this State, there is hereby provided a system of benefits for dependents of public safety employees who are covered persons. WebEmployee Assistance and Referral; Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA): A new paid leave benefit “paid parental leave” was made effective October 1, 2024, for qualifying FMLA purposes. This new leave benefit provides up to 12-weeks of paid leave. This leave in addition to an employee’s earned annual and sick leave. Flexible Spending Accounts
