WebNov 9, 2024 · The steering used to be beautifully light at parking/slow speeds. My problems started after a complete power failure on the motorway due to the alternator going wrong. The car has had a new BMW OEM alternator fitted but the steering has never fully recovered its feel. Tried recoding. The early Z4 issue was due to the grease used and the gear clearance so at the time people installed a grease nipple and injected grease which did partly solve the issue.
